The armored KrAZ has a large mass, so the suspension operates under constant load, which leads to rapid wear of the elements. Repair begins with a visual inspection of the condition of shock absorbers, springs, silent blocks, anti-roll bars and ball joints.
Next, an inspection is performed using lifting equipment to detect play in the nodes. Particular attention is paid to the points of attachment of the suspension to the frame, since under combat loads they may loosen or deform. Faulty components are replaced with reinforced analogues with an increased resource.
After the repair work is completed, the camber-toe adjustment is performed taking into account the specifics of off-road operation. The wheels are also balanced and their pressure is checked to ensure uniform distribution of the load on the axle and to avoid premature tire wear.
